New Lake County Youth Ice Hockey Association begins July 1, 2009
After a mighty struggle to maintain membership over the last 2 years, the board has made a decision that it's time for the organization to move in a different direction. Attached below is the official announcement.
After considering many different options, working with Rink Side presented the best opportunity for us to maintain the history of the Atoms. So while the name of the teams and the administration of the organization will be changing, the legacy will live on.
The transition to the new administration will begin immediately. This website will remain active at least until fall tryouts so we'll continue to post updates as they become available.
I am pleased to announce that the MK Foundation will continue. What direction it will take has yet to be fully determined but we're excited about the opportunity to potentially expand our scope as we move forward. We'll use this website to provide updates so watch for those too.
Many thanks to everyone that has been a part of the Atoms family over the years. While it's been a pleasure and a privilege to serve, for what you've given me in memories and lasting friendship I am truly grateful.
